A little about me
I’m not your typical counsellor. Maybe it has to do with the road I took to get here myself. I’ve spent the last nine years focussed on counselling, care, and wellbeing. I have a solid background in education and the creative arts—which just means I bring all those experiences and dynamics into the therapy room to enable me to host a space where everything you bring belongs.
I’m all about walking alongside adults of all ages as they navigate the messy, real stuff—trauma, relationships, big life changes, grief, loss, and those deep spiritual questions (including faith deconstruction and reconstruction).
I aim to create a space that feels safe, welcoming, and totally judgment-free, where you can take things at your own pace. My approach is creative, trauma-informed, solution focussed and built around you—your strengths, your story, and what actually helps. I blend Narrative Therapy, CBT, and Symbolic Modelling Therapy to shape unique, personalised sessions that make sense for you. With couples I draw on the Gottman Method, solution-based and analytical methods.

WHAT IS METAPHORMING?
I dreamed up the term metaphorming with three layers in mind:
Meta: The art and discipline of “thinking about thinking” … Seeking to understand ourselves and make meaning of our experiences in the world.
Metaphor: Asking ourselves the question “what is this like?” and potentially finding an image or metaphor that articulates our experience and enhances our understanding of ourselves.
Metaphorming [forming]: Our capacity as humans for continued growth and transformation as we navigate the edges of our lives.
I have been personally moved and experienced growth through the experience of interpreting meaning and experiences through metaphor and story. I can think of nothing more rewarding than hosting a place where you experience this in your own life.
May you feel empowered to experience these three elements in a meaningful and transformative way in your own life.
